Click a cell and type in it
A spreadsheet is a grid of boxes called cells, and nothing gets into one by accident. You click the cell you want, you type, and you press Enter. Until you press Enter the cell is only holding a draft, which is why a value sometimes seems to vanish when people click away instead.
The box above the grid on the left, the one showing a letter and a number, is called the Name Box, and while you are learning it is the most useful thing on screen. Click around and watch it change: A1, B2, C5. Every cell has an address like that, the column letter first and the row number second, and every task in this course names one.
Click cell B2 and type your first name, then press Enter.
