Summarise a log with a pivot table

75%

A pivot table groups a list by one of its columns and summarises another. Region down the side, revenue in the middle, totalled, and the ten-row log becomes a three-row answer.

Everything a pivot table does can be done with SUMIFS, and for a fixed report SUMIFS is often better because it is readable and it updates automatically. A pivot earns its place when you do not yet know what you are looking for, because changing the grouping takes a second.

Build a PivotTable from A1:C11, grouping by Region and totalling Revenue.
