Pick a column chart to compare categories

25%

Choosing a chart is a question about the data, not about taste. Comparing separate categories, regions, products, departments, means comparing lengths, and lengths are what bar and column charts are made of.

Column charts stand up and bar charts lie down; use bars when the labels are long, because horizontal text is readable and tilted text is not.

What a column chart is bad at is change over time with many points, where it becomes a picket fence, and parts of a whole, where the eye cannot add the columns up.

Use the Chart panel to build a column chart of the region figures in A1:B5.
